Kirkland Signature Organic Blue Agave is a natural sweetener hand harvested in Mexico and extracted from the heart of the Blue Agave plant. The aguamiel or sweet juice is pressed from the core or piña, then heated, filtered and bottled. During the process, the agave nectar is transformed into natural, unrefined syrup. Compared to table sugar (sucrose) it is slowly absorbed into the body preventing spikes in blood sugar.
